The existing house is a two storey detached 1980’s house with a generous front driveway/garden and a large garden size split into two parts. The house is west facing and has a long front area leading up to the entrance.
The intent of the garage conversion and rear extensions is to provide an additional accommodation for a senior retired member of the family. The design provides spatial open plan internal areas (for the senior member of the family) and a glazed extension to the flank size of the existing property to allow better accommodation and aspect allowing further day and sunlight into the existing rear rooms for the family to enjoy, in turn allowing better access and aspect to the garden.
The current house and its elevations is a distinctive mock tudor/Arts & Craft style and has a variety of different materials cladding its facade ie mock tudor timber framework. It is the intention of the design to remodel the elevations to have coherent, sympathetic and regular appearance in keeping with the style of the property.
