A commission to design a private house for living and working in Ahmedabad (Gujarat, India). The client, a classical musician and performing artist, runs a successful performing arts school. The organisation of the house is formed of two parts, dividing the work and live aspects of the clients life. The living structure allows for the client and his family’s day to day life. The circular form emphasises the seclusion, privacy and regeneration that the living aspect represents. The work form plays upon the creative nature of the clients work. Open to the elements and created as a stage set addressing an external amphitheatre with a backdrop to the city of Ahmedabad.
